Original Kit
Issued: 1976-77

NEVER Re-Issued
This slick and deadly dagger was originally produced as the Nuclear Airliner "Impetus." After some reworking of the tail section to allow the
small "support craft/fighter" to be docked, a reissue complete with new decals and box art yielded the Ragnarok . The kit was based on the insightful designs and stylish concepts of Andy Yanchus. x

1960 Aurora Impetus BU

Found at ModelArchives, it's built as an
Aeroflot machine based on the reasoning
that "only the Soviets would build an airliner (Impetus) and a bomber (Ragnarok) from
the same airframe."

This photo shows the modifications of the Impetus (White) to become the Ragnarok (black).

The RAGNAROK box copy reads:

"To help protect our world from alien invasion the Orbital Interceptor has been developed. This Interceptor is nuclear powered and armed with rockets which have nuclear warheads. A small support craft housed in the tail of the interceptor can be launched for reconnaissance or, in case of attack, as a fighter using its laser weapons."
