I
haven't yet built my Airfix version, and haven't yet tracked down
my Fundimensions Original or AMT repop of this great plastic
kit. However, thanks to a very talented graphic artist named Domatine,
this classic moonbase workhorse is available as a paper model.
It was one of the first paper kits I built, so my technique was a little shaky, but I think the outcome is still pretty satisfactory. I even designed a special base for my kit. |

| On the Google paper models group that I frequent (i.e. lurk), a modeler was trying to track down directions for this kit, which, as far as I know, do not exist. I built my kit by looking closely at the parts sheets and the very simple 3d model pic found on the site (shown above). The rest was just a good guess. I think I about 98% nailed it =) | ||

| To help out my fellow modeler (and any other interested parties), and show off my own kit, I've put these pics together. I've labeled the assemblies in the hopes that the construction strategy is decipherable. Because I'm doing this after the fact, a step-by-step assembly breakdown isn't possible, but I think this is pretty clear. Just download the images below to help guide your construction process. (They're larger than they appear.) Feel free to email me with any questions or comments about this terrific little kit. Happy modelling!!! | ||
