Mock-up Kit Box Issued: 1990

When Gary Makatura set out to capture the style of the original Aurora box art, he didn't mess around. Seems he laid his very skillful hands upon a set of vintage paints in the original manufacturer's color scheme. That explains the uncanilly "authentic" feel of these boxes.

Someone Heard My Prayers!

Here is a resin kit based on the Gary Makatura mock box art! I just won it at auction and am quite happy with it. It's totally got that Aurora feel, and captures the motion of the box art perfectly. The eBay seller knows nothing of its origins, only that he purchased it at a "CHILLER CON" a "few years back."

Cool! I get a little mystery with my dream kit...what could be better?

Classic horror film about a scientist who accidentally turns himself into a man-fly. "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"'s David "Al" Hedison plays the title role. Notice the "X" rating. This was some heavy stuff for 1958, and it still holds up well.
