This clever little synopsis of the classic 1941 Universal film was originally found on the now defunct ClassicHorror.com site, which was created and hosted by the gothically-monikered Ravenswood
High School
. They graciously invited the material to be shared, as long as proper credit was given,
as I am happily doing now
(with some modification), so that their great work won't fade away. Enjoy!!

Larry Talbot returns to his family castle after a long absence in America. Legend has it that the region is known to be troubled by werewolves. Father and son work to rebuild a strained relationship.
.
While working on his father's telescope, Larry sees an attractive shop clerk. Larry makes it a point to get to know Gwen. While visiting the shop, Larry buys a silver wolf's head walking stick. Later, Larry  meets Gwen and her friend Jenny.

After a moonlight stroll through the wolfbane, and a discussion of its mystical properties, the three go to a gypsy camp.
.
.
While Larry and Gwen go for a moonlight walk, Jenny has her fortune told by Bela the gypsy. Bela is terror-stricken to see the sign of the "pentagram" on Jenny. Jenny flees in fear. Larry and Gwen hear a terrified scream. Larry rushes toward the sound and finds Jenny being attacked by a wolf. Larry struggles with the animal and kills it with the silver walking stick, but is bitten by the wolf before it dies.
.
The police are notified of the fatal attack on Jenny. They investigate, but instead of finding a wolf, they find the beaten body of Bela and Larry's stick by the body.
Larry is questioned
about the crime.
.
He shows the detective his wound but it has vanished!
Unable to give a stisfactory account of his whereabouts
and actions, Larry comes under a cloud of suspicion.

.In mental agony, Larry returns to the gypsy camp seeking answers from Bela's mother. He is astonished when he is told that Bela was a werewolf and, having been bitten,
he, too, is now cursed

She tells him that he will turn into a wolf when the moon is full and that he can only be killed by silver. Even after she shows Larry the pentagram where the wound was, he leaves believing the tale to be nonsense.
.
That night, as the moon turns full, Larry is horrified to find himself transforming into a werewolf. A man is killed that night, and the police follow the tracks of the creature to Larry's bedroom. Larry comes under more scrutiny by the police.
.
The next night, Larry once again transforms into the Wolf Man. This time, he is caught in a bear trap set by the police. As he returns to his human self, the gypsy woman arrives and helps free him from the trap. After begging his father for help, Mr. Talbot straps Larry into a chair as the moon begins to rise the next evening. Mr. Talbot seeks out the gypsy woman looking for an explanation for his son's disturbing behavior.
.
Meanwhile, Larry has transformed again. He attacks Gwen, who has been searching for him. Mr. Talbot rushes to her screams and attacks the creature with his son's silver walking stick. He is shattered when he discovers he has killed his own son.
.
The police arrive and assume that Larry was killed saving Gwen from the wolf. The gypsy woman recites a final prayer for Larry and declares that his suffering is over.
